Shannon "Dmote" Peel started painting graffiti in the streets of Sydney in 1985 at the age of 15 and has been a consistent contributor to the graffiti movement ever since. Constantly bridging the gap between his roots in the street painting and a culturally sensitive approach to commercial work Dmote has taken his artwork to subways, streets and galleries all over the world in New York, Canada, Tokyo, Spain, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Croatia and Bosnia/Sarajevo.
Dmote's work has been published in countless magazines and videos highlighting the world's best graffiti artists, and he continues to stay true to the fundamentals of the artwork, remaining active as a street writer as well as a gallery artist.
Graduating from Randwick College with a degree in Graphic Design in 1993, Dmote additionally focused on courses of printmaking, screen printing, photography and life drawing. He has worked in the art and design industries since with clients raining from MTV, Reebok, Carhaart, Sony Ericcson, Clemenger BBDO as well as Absolut Vodka.
