Futura began to paint Graffiti at the age of 15, "I had identity’s problems (…), I said to myself, if I do that "Graffiti" I could build my own identity."
Meeting members of Uga United Graffiti Artists in the early seventies, and is the writer Stay High 149 who gives him the passion for Graffiti. He founded with other graffers the crew of "Soul Artists". This period of artistic emulation expires arounf 1973 when Futura finds himself involved in an accident with another writer named Ali. Futura decides to abandon Graffiti and enroled himself in the US Navy for four years. In 1979, he receives a letter from Ali, asking him to return to New York. Both created the crew "Soul Artists of Zoo York".
