Monster

Paris, France
Born in the late 70’s in Beirut (Lebanon), he was quickly confronted to chaos and hysteria. Monster aka Dem189 had to learn the limits of a city at war. Confined at home, during most of his free time outside school, he had to develop his own creative universe. From Lego to drawing, he built his own fantasies. Fascinated by war, he also lays on paper his fantasised weapons and war crafts, genesis to his future work.

In 1989, he moved to Paris, and discovered a whole new urban biotope with different rules and cultures, by then he was a teenager.

His style is unpredictably diverse, integrating different movements from punk-rock, heavy metal to electro to hip-hop, hopping from one to the other as he builds his own codes.Passed 30, Monster keeps exploring different subcultures, maintaining and staying true to his urban roots, he still finds his inspiration by riding through the city.
