About this Art
"In the UK there was due to be a mass Culling of the European Badger because they are carriers of bovine TB, which has been increasing in cattle, the government deemed it easier to exterminate these animals even though other easy alternatives were available such as the vaccination of the badgers. After campaigning from animal rights groups, the Cull was postponed. The bag around the Badger's head is from an upmarket middle to upper class supermarket chain called Waitrose. The image is symbolic of current events in the UK where the Conservative government, made up of mostly privately educated millionaires, have been targeting and vilifying those unable to be heard, predominately working class families, the poor and the disabled." - Adam Batchelor

"My work is about the human relationship with its culture. Currently I like to explore a juxtaposition between pop consumer imagery and people from the real world, mostly from developing countries. I draw inspiration from consumerism, object hood and the developing world to look at how western culture can influence and out shadow other cultures." - Adam Batchelor
