ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Case MacKeen is an Canadian Painter born in 1977 in Belleville ON. He has lived in Toronto since the age of 17 and presently lives and works there. As a noteable pioneer of Canadian graffiti art,
he continues to merged his graffiti experiences and his studio study into a style that integrates both classical and street art, while continuing to explore the industrial medium of spray paint .
His work has been exhibited and published both nationally and internationally, selected examples include: Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art (Hollywood CA), Cutlog NY, Frieze Week (NYC);
The Armoury show (NYC), The Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto ON); and Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto ON). His work has been featured in Rutgers Journal of Comparative Literature, The Toronto Star,
Graffiti World (Nicholas Ganz), Toronto Graffiti: The Human Behind The Wall (Yvette Farkas), as well as being a subject in a variety of documentaries in the late nineties. MacKeen is an award winning director, receiving a Juno Award for Video of the Year for The Arcade Fire's "Neighborhood #3" in 2007 and the "Young Guns" award in 2004 and from the Art Directors Club of New York.
