ABOUT THIS ART

This piece of original artwork includes comes framed and ready to hang on a cradled wood canvas.

"Being a huge video game nerd in my youth it was just a matter of time before I worked that out in one of my paintings. I preferred drawing a few of the gamers instead of the original iconic video game characters that are so often re-used for art and prints. There are a lot of clues that are really easy to get if you were into that video game, or that era of Nintendo, Sega, Atari, that kind of stuff. Through that painting period on my computer I had ran every episode of The Angry Video Game Nerd. It gave me more and more inspiration for the painting as I went on. The technique that I used was having really wet goauche and acrylic in the beginning with very light colors, almost white. Then as things progressed I was looking for the forms of the stains to develop the characters. If there was a stain it began as the outline for another characters head or hands, it's something that you can't see much of now but throughout the early stages was important. Once I had the forms of my characters I finished with an ink drawing that I made with a traditional quill/drawing nib. " - Cone
