"This image was a part of the work I put into the streets of New York City in 2017. It fit pretty great on most of the walls I found for it. I don’t generally like to discuss my artwork in that way much or the intentions behind it. I prefer people have their own experience with it. I have heard (and overheard) so many people describing what my work means to them. Some descriptions have been really quite fantastic…and while maybe not what I intended, no less valid. They are like having dreams. Time with them doesn’t work in nearly the same way." - Dee Dee
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
is a New York City based street artist who uses collage, paint and silkscreen to bring surreal and cinematic daydreams and nightmares to life. It is in that world – between sleep and dream, between the surface and subconscious – where the viewer is invited to enter. The work encapsulates themes of the seen and unseen, the hidden and the revealed, the masks we wear and ones we choose to remove.
