RUN #01201
Joram Roukes At Stolen Space in London

On May 22nd, 1xRUN alumni artist Joram Roukes opened his solo exhibition "The Great Beyond" at Stolen Space Gallery in London. This latest body of work is entirely new for Roukes touching on themes of exploration and escapism. With this series Roukes has created mostly large oil paintings in his familiar collage-like/re-contextualized approach that allows him to explore his subject in a loose, but cohesive narrative.

ABOUT THIS ART

The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 inch black wood frame with UV-glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware.

"I started this painting with a reference photo that I took when a film crew closed down Spring Street in Downtown Los Angeles, a block from where I live. By re-appropriating the figures in the scene and the background the crew itself ended up looking like a surreal movie with a David Lynch type of oddness to it." - Joram Roukes
