Chiara (Kia) Battisti was born in Milan in 1983. After attending art school Caravaggio in Milan, she enrolled at the Painting Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, where she graduated in March 2007.
In high school, she approaches to Photorealism genre, studying this movement in the portrait. During this time she get closer to the world of writing and Street Art, which, between 2005 and 2011, it leads to the production of a figurative paintings series with themes that illustrate the roots of hip-hop culture (street life) through external urban scenes, proposed often from the bottom view and in the foreground.
At the same time she continued her research on the portrait. Subjects are people who she knows well: friends and artists, focusing on the emotional inner target. This object is achieved through the combination of an angular sign and a faster gesture.
