"I had several ideas in mind when I was making this piece — our relationship to each other and to our environment, the embodiment of power and power structure in general, and the contrast and connection between the ideas of strength and grace. The original painting was acrylic on canvas, it was 24” x 24”. For these editions we’ve created two hand pulled 11-color screen prints." -Laura Berger
Laura Berger is a contemporary artist based in Chicago. Her current work is centered around themes of interdependence, self-understanding, and alternate notions of family and connection. Using painting as a way to explore questions without concrete answers and ideas that exist on a more spiritual or emotional plane, the figures in her work are representative of humanity as a whole, with external identifiers of individuality minimized or removed. Berger has exhibited her work at numerous galleries across the US and abroad.
