The one we were just talking about, the black and white closeup, that was always my key picture. That was the one I remembered from the shoot. Let me just say, my entire archive was in my friend's garage in England for 25 years in filing cabinets. And it was only shipped over here four years ago, and I'm still going through it."

Rock 'n' roll photographer Steve Rapport has captured some of the UK's most pivotal rock moments spanning the years 1980-1994. Steve left the UK and headed for the San Francisco Bay Area in June 1992, and has lived there ever since. Meanwhile, his photo archive lived in filing cabinets in his friend Rod's garage in Oxfordshire, England until the end of 2017, when photos and photographer were finally reunited.
These days Steve can usually be found at his (mostly) rock 'n' roll gallery in New Orleans, which showcases all of his artwork, plus his various magazines, photozines and note cards.
