"And I'm thinking, 'Okay, this is a lot more interesting than it was two minutes ago.' And then Lemmy looks at me... and I say, 'Yeah, I'm good, Lemmy. Thanks.' And Lemmy shrugs his shoulders and in one swift, practiced motion, inhales. The Ben Nevis of narcotics disappears up his nose. I have no idea what it was. It was such an experience that it's one of the most seared-in-my-brain experiences in my rock and roll life. It was just such a rock and roll moment from such a rock and roll icon."
–Steve Rapport
Rock 'n' roll photographer Steve Rapport has captured some of the UK's most pivotal rock moments spanning the years 1980-1994. Steve left the UK and headed for the San Francisco Bay Area in June 1992, and has lived there ever since. Meanwhile, his photo archive lived in filing cabinets in his friend Rod's garage in Oxfordshire, England until the end of 2017, when photos and photographer were finally reunited.
These days Steve can usually be found at his (mostly) rock 'n' roll gallery in New Orleans, which showcases all of his artwork, plus his various magazines, photozines and note cards.
