"There's a bottle of Smirnoff that's half drunk or three quarters drunk. He's still smoking the Marlboro, and he's got the pinky finger going, which I love. So the drink is probably a vodka and orange. And then the next thing I remember, I must have looked away. Maybe I went to my camera bag to change lenses. Look back, and now Lemmy is holding what we in England call a fuck-off knife. Knife in one hand, fishes in his Levi's with the other hand, comes out with a plastic bag, opens it. One well-rehearsed, well-practiced motion, boom. And then on the end of the knife is like a miniature Ben Nevis."
–Steve Rapport
Rock 'n' roll photographer Steve Rapport has captured some of the UK's most pivotal rock moments spanning the years 1980-1994. Steve left the UK and headed for the San Francisco Bay Area in June 1992, and has lived there ever since. Meanwhile, his photo archive lived in filing cabinets in his friend Rod's garage in Oxfordshire, England until the end of 2017, when photos and photographer were finally reunited.
These days Steve can usually be found at his (mostly) rock 'n' roll gallery in New Orleans, which showcases all of his artwork, plus his various magazines, photozines and note cards.
