ABOUT THIS ART
This artwork comes unstretched. The framing option for this original artwork includes stretching on a 1 Inch cradled wood box.

“The work brings with it an iconography known not only to those who take part in processions and demonstrations but also to those who understand art and Street Art: a boy with a face covered by a balaclava is in fact intent on throwing a stone at something against which he is evidently demonstrating. The pose chosen reflects that thought of by another great exponent of world street art, Banksy, in his flower thrower. And just as in the case of the anonymous Bristol, the work hides a second level of reading (in his case, conveyed by the flowers taken up by the demonstrator), so in the same way Mad's work also has a deeper meaning. The boy is in fact inserted inside a glass bottle, a symbol of a system and hypocrisy that preclude people from meeting, exchanging opinions, organizing riots. Yet not all is lost: with that imperious and dangerous gesture, the demonstrator who is ready to throw the stone will manage to break his own glass and come out of a bubble that prevents man from living: "I wanted to show how the system controls human beings - said the artist - but also how the glass of intolerance can be fragile if you can understand that you can easily be broken to get rid of it.” Written by Clara Amodeo
