"Nocturnal Wisdom represents the pursuit of knowledge and growth through a genuine passion for self expression.
The owl represents death in most native cultures, but in my design it's the "cousin of death." I'm highly influenced by indigenous folklore, pop culture and music. On Nas's Illmatic album he states that he never sleeps because sleep is the cousin of death. The owl and neo indigenous characters are restless and in a state of meditation.
The speakers in the print are a constant in all of my artwork because for me, music is one of the most intense vehicles for self expression. It also represents a universal language that all people can understand.
The Serape shawl represents my Mexican heritage and the polka dots are my interpretation of celestial stars. I hope this print inspires people to express themselves and move forward with there journey with determination and strength." - Marka27MORE
