ABOUT THIS ART

The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 inch black wood frame with UV-glass foam core backing and ready to hang hardware.

"I made the frame first with heavy inspiration from Gustav Klimt's frame that Judith II rests in and had been lusting over the Jules Bastien-Lepage painting JOAN OF ARC. Having just finished a pinup for my friend David Zizzou's comic book about a cool female character named Oddité I had already been listening to a heavy rotation of female musicians mostly (The Julie Ruin) to get inspired. So when asked to participate in the lyric show it was predetermined that I was gonna paint a cool girl and her cool little friends hanging out at Lady's. which is a memory of the feeling of all of our grandmother's back yards. Her little friends Claudine and Pear are based on Klimt's studio cats that would piss all over his drawings that were scattered on his studio floor. And that is that!" - Matt Gordon
