"Many of my paintings portray and depict (sometimes subtly and other times more obviously) close and distant elements and issues that affect us consciously and subconsciously. I hope the viewers find on this piece both common and personal things that resonate. I'd like to leave this piece to each viewer to interpret as he/she sees it fit. The original "Between Here and There 2" was done in acrylic on linen with rhinestones on the gas mask which took 10 straight hours to apply. - Mimi Yoon
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
For artist
Mimi Yoon, there is no concrete definition for art. To her it is simply that "art is." Mimi's artwork vibrates with tangible and sensual beauty and honesty. It subtly allures then climaxes to demand attention and is immediately unforgettable.
Mimi works intuitively without speculating what each piece will be about. She paints with acrylic, but her main medium is her own feelings and mood of the moment. Through her art she explores the landscape of dreams and emotions not understood, and invites the viewers to drift off on emotional journeys into a world of dreaming. Mimi’s art is explosive and sensually mysterious at once and it settles upon the eyes and souls of the viewers like a fine tuned symphony of a foggy night.
