About this Art

The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 inch black wood frame with UV-glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware.

"This print is based off a painting I did in London last year. It’s one of my favourite pieces, so it’s great to immortalize it in print form! All my paintings are based on ancient tribal masks. I like to use the simplest shapes possible to achieve the most amount of emotion or character I can. At first my paintings can appear confronting, but look closer and you’ll see some anxiousness and vulnerability in there." - Mysterious Al

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Mysterious Al is a contemporary artist from London, UK. He rose to fame in the early 2000’s through the explosion of street art, developing a notoriety for his wall paintings, paste-ups and illegal street installations alongside his contemporaries, the Finders Keepers Crew.

Al’s work has changed dramatically from his early beginnings. His latest paintings are based on ancient tribal masks, reimagined in wild contemporary colours. His work is striking and at first glance intimidating. But look closer and you’ll see fragility, vulnerability and pieces that poke fun at man’s psyche and fragile sense of self.

“Although there's a lot of spontaneity and energy in my work, I draw references from a rich history of method, colour and shape. I love that something that seems so immediate and carefree can leave the studio and become treasured, on display, perhaps out-living me. Living forever”. - Mysterious Al
