The Crystal Ship is a contemporary art festival specialized in public space which sets sail to the city of Ostend with talented creatives. World-renowned artists created gigantic murals and fantastic art installations that form a permanent artistic trail in the city.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Nelio was born in France in 1982. Mainly influenced by graffiti, abstract painting, graphic design, screen-printing and architecture, this self-taught artist has developed an unique artistic approach.

His early letter based style and figurative works slowly evolved into a pure abstract universe, where primary geometric forms and unstructured lines contrast today in well balanced compositions.

Part of the specificity of Nelio’s work is his unusual use of different color palettes, from monochromatic tones to intense polychromatic compositions. Another feature is the way he mixes flat and three-dimensional elements, creating embedded spaces that play with movement and perception.
