About this Art
This RUN includes a 1 inch white wood frame with UV-glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware.
"Nightlines came from taking my drawings, normally black lines on white and seeing how they worked when inverted. Rather than adding color within the spaces I wanted to color the lines themselves. Increasingly I’ve been interested in making my lines the focal point of my art. Here they have the stage to themselves, including the color.
The inspiration for this print came from living in New York and seeing all the late night bars, clubs and delis and their lights. When you sit in a taxi and stare out of the window as it races along a rainy street late at night all the lines and lights streak across your eyes. Inspiration also came from the sort of characters you see walking around New York in the amber glow of the night. A lot of weird city dwellers make up the characters in my works." - Jon Burgerman
Jon Burgerman has risen to be one of the prominent artists in the recent boom of practitioners who traverse the disciplines of contemporary art, design, illustration and entrepreneurism. His award winning work can be seen globally from gallery and bedroom walls to cinema and iPhone screens. A sense of British self-deprecation, dry humour and modern-day anxiety imbues his work along with an enthusiasm for salad.
Burgerman exhibits internationally and has shown work along side artists such as Banksy, Damien Hirst, Vivienne Westwood and Gerald Scarfe. His work is collected worldwide and is in the permanent collections of The Victoria and Albert Museum and The Science Museum in London.
He has received a Cannes Lions Advertising award, two D&AD; Silver award nominations and has collaborated with brands that include: Pepsi, CocaCola, Nike, Sony, Sky, Kidrobot, Puma, Nintendo, MTV, Levis, 55DSL, Miss Sixty, AOL, Size? and Rip Curl.
