"Jude came up to me at the MOCA show I was in and told me he had a transcendental experience with a video installation I had in the museum. So when he asked if I would do a cover to his book I was greatly honored." - Sage Vaughn

"I did 2CE at the MOCA and was running around the museum checking out exhibits. Some were cool others lackluster, then I came on Sage's paintings and was floored. It was like all these moths and butterflies flying around the room. I ran up on Sage and told him about this, he thought I was speaking on the videos. I probably wasn't that good at articulating my compliments as I was tripping balls. When it was time for the release of my first book Hyena he was the first person I hollered at about the cover, so it was only natural to get Sage back for my latest book Hummingbird." - Jude Angelini

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Sage Vaughn - Born in Oregon but raised in the San Fernando Valley, Vaughn first learned to draw with the help of his father, a commercial artist for Disney. “That’s how my dad and I hung out—we made art,” he says. Despite his penchant for drawing and painting, Vaughn decided to forgo pursuing a career in art in favor of studying to become a doctor. But after three years at the University of California, Santa Cruz, he dropped out and returned to Los Angeles to work construction while honing his painting style in a makeshift studio in a friend’s garage.

Jude Angelini - Notorious for being brutally honest and vulgar, Rude Jude definitely lives up to his name. Whether offering advice to callers during his “What Would Jude Do?” segment or spitting game at his porn star guests, Jude offers a refreshing perspective with his clever and humorous remarks. As host of “The All Out Show” on Shade 45, Eminem’s satellite radio station, the show has become the third most popular on Sirius/XM since its launch in 2005.
