About this Art
Sheefy being inspired by the spontaneity, and fine art aesthetic of Keith Haring's artwork he created this body of hand drawn sketches named “Haring Hieroglyphs”. Sheefy wanted to help illustrate not only the cultural aspects of Detroit and it’s nightlife, but he wanted to voice his opinions on the new wave of gentrification in Detroit as well as create portraits of a few of his favorite painters. The simple, bold, and symbolic approach of Haring's work helped Sheefy decode his thoughts in a way that could be understood by everyone in a instant of seeing the ink drawings. Sheefy also being a musician personified a few of his favorite techno instruments including the MPC 4000, Roland TR-808 Drum Machine, the GhettoBlaster, and more.
A visual artist turned musician, Sheefy McFly uses the concept of creating visual art and applies those methods to developing music. His sound is bass driven and errie sounding to reflect the impulses he feels while creating.
