About this Art
"Tinker Hatfield's technologically innovative Air Max 90s have always seemed special to me. I have wanted a pair of my own for too long, but it's difficult to find them in my size. This is why I decided to create my own collection of Air Max 90s with the colors and materials that I find from recycled boxes. For some, I want to replicate a model exactly, and for others I choose my own color combinations.

"It can me take up to two days to make a sculpture, depending on the embroidery. I am always looking for cardboard with the perfect color and thickness. 280 shoes later, I still have ideas for the next release!" –Smoluk

Born and raised in France, Smoluk landed in Montreal in 2015. Sneaker head, passionate about hip hop, Smoluk gives empty boxes a second life and turns kicks into pieces of art. Avant-garde, colorful and audacious, Smoluk’s pop art creations lead us to reflect on our contemporary societies and the diverse issues our world is facing such as mass consumption. When she is not working on new creations, Smoluk is outside, walking around the city, always on the lookout for new ideas. Honoring street culture, Smoluk’s work is provocative, intersectional and ruleless.
