"Mudiwa means ‘beloved’ in Shona. There are up to 40,000 elephants killed every year, this piece celebrates the beauty of these gentle giants and what they mean to Africa. Each animal in the series is shown with its face breaking away to reveal the raw skeleton adorned with ethnic patterns from the animals’ home." - Sonny
