The framing option for this RUN includes a 1 Inch Black Wood Frame with UV-Glass, foam core backing and ready to hang hardware.
"This piece was originally created as a commission for a collector in New York City and rests on his wall in good company with some amazing artists. The original is already sold, but I do have a few freestyle hand cut paper and mixed media pieces and a handful of Afterlife cans available here in addition to these prints.
The 'Fragments' style with the skull, (currently) female features, rips, tears and motion elements are an ongoing examination of fading beauty and the traps of vanity one comes in contact with in every city." - Ian Kuali'i
This RUN comes signed, numbered and with a Certificate of Authenticity from Ian Kuali'i and 1xRUN.
Ian Kuali'i is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Orange County California, raised in Maui Hawaii and currently residing in the New York City Metro Area. Ian's creative process blends the contrasting elements of very loose graffiti writing technics with extremely detailed hand cut paper and collaged found materials to create unique compositions. His work is a balance between the rough and delicate, demonstrating the process of destroying to create. His art is predominantly influenced by his ancestral ties to the indigenous people of the Southwest United States and Hawaii, as well as masonic symbolism, mysticism, global politics and themes of urban decay. Through out his career, Ian has assisted such artists as Doze Green, Carlos "Mare139" Rodriguez and WK Interact in large scale projects and installations across the country.
