About The Artist

This piece of original artwork comes ready to hang.

Opening Friday August 14th, Inner State Gallery is proud to announce Lyric 3 a musically themed group exhibition curated by legendary Detroit artist Glenn Barr. Gathering over 50 artists from around the globe, Barr had one simple request: Each piece of art must be 12 x 12 inches, paying homage to the timeless beauty that can fit on the cover of a vinyl record.

“This song is from one of my favorite Beatles albums. I've always wondered what it would look like, warm, welcoming, protector and populated by fantastic aquatic creatures. This exhibition allowed me to represent him, I like to imagine the Beatles drawn as characters from Yellow Submarine walking in the middle of it." - Stan Manoukian

Born in 1969, Paris, FRANCE, Stan Manoukian is an illustrator working since many years in the comic book industry in France and U.S and as a designer and story boarder for movies and commercials.

Impassioned by old books, dictionaries and old engraved plates and paintings, discovered through his father passion, he likes to represent his creatures with the manners of the old encyclopedias, by indexing them, classifying them and describing them. Now, few year later, like a cryptozoologist discovering a new universe, he's trying (carefully) to represent them in their natural environment, complete with habitat, other existing species, predators and how they interact with one another.
