"This print is of an original painting from my most recent solo exhibit during the month of November at the Mahoa Gallery, Honolulu.

Maka is a Hawaiian word with numerous meanings, but is more known as the meaning of the eye(s) of a face. Here I am exploring one or several of the overlapping meanings of Maka. More specifically, that Maka also means the male component of a flower. I have the Maka within a mouth of a ki?i being protected from harm." - Carl Pao

This RUN comes signed and numbered and includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Carl Pao and 1xRUN.

Pao [artist_location] => Hawaii [artist_description] => Carl Pao was born and raised in Kailua on the island of O‘ahu and, in 1994, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Furthering his study in Auckland, Aotearoa, Pao earned his Masters in Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts and also came to realize the strength and validity that exists in the artistic expressions of indigenous peoples. He hopes his work will speak to people on many different levels, allowing room for others to draw their own conclusions while appreciating the statement he makes as an artist.
