I’ve got a seemly collection of animal pictures, which I often flip through when I’m in need of inspiration for a new piece. The decision to use a leopard gecko was simply, me coming across the photo, and remembering that I’ve been eager to use one in a painting for a while now. That, and also that I think they’re groovy – swapping his brown spots to fuchsia would make him even groovier. The ladies in my paintings are usually adorned with flowers of some sort, this time I decided to have that accent tattooed to her neck. " - Tatiana Suarez

Her charming style is distinctive -- the trademark eyes draw the viewer into a beautiful and surreal world. Rich with symbols that stem from her Brazilian and El Salvadorian heritage, subjects appear as if they are under water, frozen in lovely stillness. The doe-eyed figures look childlike, but also exude sexual overtones, ornamented with plants, insects and other unsettling accompaniments. Beauty is presented concurrently with exotic -- even creepy -- creatures to create enchanted narratives.
