About this Art
This piece of original artwork is ready to hang in the frame shown.
"King's phrase, 'sons...will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.", really stuck with me after re-listening to his speech. I've been recently practicing the traditional ritual of drawing still-lives in my sketchbook and I thought that this would be a good application. I then gathered items around my apartment that reminded me of my friends and arranged them on the coffee table. It got me dreaming of a nice, warm Sunday morning with a good breakfast and good conversation." - Burdick
Opening to the public Saturday, January 24th from 7-10pm, Inner State Gallery is proud to present “We Have A Dream” a group exhibition featuring more than 40 emerging Detroit artists, each paying homage to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historical “I Have A Dream” speech.
Michael Eugene Burdick is an illustrator in Detroit, Michigan. A graduate of Detroit’s College for Creative Studies’ Illustration Department, Burdick has since worked professionally in the design and commercial arts industry at an old shoe company, a big advertising firm, and a couple print shops.
