"This is first hand embellished print I ever made. Each print is unique and took a lot of effort to create. The painting was a part of a color pencil multi-character group show at Corey Helford Gallery, and it was inspired but French Toile tapestries and Chanel Cruise collection from 2013 (the Versailles Collection). It is the only full background and full composition painting I have ever made in color pencils." - Kukula
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Kukula was born in a relatively isolated village about an hour north of Tel Aviv. Her few neighbors were mostly retirees, many of them Holocaust survivors. Her childhood imagination was nourished by equal parts princess fantasies and World War II horror stories. Thus the attempt to reconcile real life horror with fantasy life sweetness emerges as a central theme in her work.
