Mary Williams has been drawing since childhood and began a series of mood-laden interiors in college. Those drawings led her to begin large scale portraiture in graduate school. Needing to break out of her habits and gain a wider audience, she began incorporating her drawings into collages. This led her to work with more social themes such as feminism, gun control and the preservation of the environment and its creatures.
